It all started one sunny Sunday afternoon when we recived a phone call from a lady who had purchesed a Husky puppy, she was very worried as he looked very sickly, and he would not eat or drink.
After talking with her, she asked us if we would be so kind as to take the puppy as she did not know what else to do with him. When (Storm) the pup arrived later that day, we immediately took him to our vets, who confirmed our worst fears, this puppy was only just 4 weeks old, if that. He had been sold as 8 weeks old & with only a "Transfer of Ownership"!
Our vet wormed Storm & gave him an injection that would give him an appetite. Soon after we arrived home Storm was sick, & it was a ball of worms the size of a golf ball. We definatley had our work cut out, we stuck with him, & eventually he recovered & was finaly fit & healthy. At 12 weeks of age it was time for Storm to go to his new home & this was for life. Storm is 4 years old now, he is loved very much, & what a handsome boy he is. This upset us so much, we decided we would start our own rescue centre for the breed. Although there are rescue centres out there for the breed, they are all overcrowded & over worked with the amount of Huskies needing new homes. We run our rescue centre independantly, we use our own money, & donations. We ask for a £200 donation for a rescue Husky, this goes towards, spaying, neauturing, vets bills, microchipping, vaccinations, flea treatments, worming, food, petrol, & any other things they may need.
Please think about giving a home to a rescue Husky, they will give you just as much love if not more than buying a puppy.
Husky Hollow Rescue Centre is dedicated to STORM.
